"I like that the instructor stated from the beginning of the class, she was not going to tell us we were wrong about what our preconceived ideas of each generation, but she was going to provide us with insight. She did just that, I left that class with a better understanding of the millennials and gen z. I was truly enlightened by this class and have not stopped talking about it."

Kimberly McLaughlin-Smith assisted Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo in university-wide conversation during a difficult time of racial protest and unrest at the university. She masterfully led discussions with students, faculty and staff, and the university as a whole. These discussions quelled some of the divisions that were created by incidents experienced by Black students on campus. It created greater understanding and led to more dialogue across the university. She also worked with administration and faculty/staff to create a more inclusive environment for Black students. She brought us to greater understanding so that we could continue the work that needed to be done on campus. I was grateful for Ms. McLaughlin-Smith’s consultation and would recommend her to other universities.
